Coast Guard saber, model 1804, of the Imperial Guard's Seamen's Corps. The Coast Guard was created in 1829 in La Teste, Gironde department. The hilt is covered in sheepskin and decorated with twisted brass wire. The branch is hollowed out, with a curved quillon ending in a ball. The quillons are shield-shaped with an engraved marine anchor on one side. The pommel is reinforced with a riveted button and has a short tang decorated with lines. The curved blade has fullers and a flat back, a single edge, and a false edge, 20 cm long. The scabbard is missing. Length: 89 cm. Blade length: 75 cm. Blade width at the ricasso: 3.5 cm.
