Fluted column complete with 7 pedals. - Missing Strings
A single-action French harp made by the renowned Parisian manufacturer Georges Cousineau and his son Jacques-Georges Cousineau, among the protagonists of the harp's technical evolution in the second half of the 18th century. The action consists of pairs of tangents that, rotating in opposite directions, shorten the string, raising its pitch by a semitone: a more precise system than the previous hook devices and predating the double action perfected by Sébastien Érard. The soundboard has 34 peg strings, the remaining strings being missing. Examples from the same manufacturer are held in important public collections and international museums, including the Museum of Musical Instruments, confirming the historical and collectible value of these instruments.
