"13 Antique Silk And Linen Napkins, Damask With Birds, Monogrammed Dd, Early 20th Century, 91x76cm"
Set of thirteen linen napkins with a high silk content, damask weave, early 20th century, circa 1910. Each napkin features a discreet, hand-embroidered "DD" monogram in one corner, delicately integrated into the design. The damask pattern is inspired by the Louis XVI style: oval medallions, scrolls, garlands and floral bouquets, and birds unfold in a harmonious and structured composition. Depending on the light, the interplay of satin and matte finishes reveals the motifs with softness and depth. The significant silk content in the weave gives the fabric a supple drape and a subtle sheen, characteristic of fine antique linens. Dimensions: 76 x 91 cm. Hand-sewn hems. Washed for sale. Note: One napkin has a snag of approximately 1 x 1 cm and slight foxing near one edge. Another napkin has a snag of approximately 0.5 x 1 cm and one or two small visible knots. The other eleven napkins These linens are in very good condition.
