Antique Linen Thread Bridal Set: Wedding Sheet And 2 Pillowcases With "cg" Monogram And Lace

A magnificent antique bridal set, consisting of a large linen sheet and two matching pillowcases.

Crafted from linen thread fabric of remarkable fineness, this set captivates with the lightness of its weave and the quality of its craftsmanship. Weighing barely 1.2 kg, it is a testament to the exceptionally fine and delicate fabric characteristic of the finest Belle Époque trousseaus.

The sheet is adorned with an elegant “CG” monogram, delicately hand-embroidered and surrounded by exquisitely fine floral garlands.

The two matching pillowcases feature the same refined design and are enhanced by stunning antique lace with geometric and floral motifs, lending the set a timeless elegance.

With its style, the quality of its fabric, and the refinement of its embroidery, this set evokes the prestigious wedding trousseaus of the Belle Époque (late 19th–early 20th century), crafted to accompany young brides.

Found in its original box, this set was carefully protected in tissue paper, suggesting that it was likely never used. The box, which had deteriorated significantly over time, was unfortunately not preserved. The set is therefore being sold without its original box.

Condition

Exceptional condition. This set is in remarkable condition and exhibits all the characteristics of antique linens that have been kept in storage. The only thing to note is the presence of a few discreet traces of original ink, which do not detract from the beauty of the set. The fabric, embroidery, and lace are beautifully preserved.
