Object description :

"Antique Embroidered Linen-cotton Blend Sheet, Monogram Mb Under A Marquis's Coronet, Castle Linen – Late 19th Century"
A beautiful set of three identical antique linen sheets, made of a thick, rustic cotton-linen blend, intended for winter use, from the linens of a prestigious residence near Narbonne. Each piece is embroidered in the center with a large monogram "MB" surmounted by a marquis's coronet, executed in exquisitely fine white embroidery, creating a striking decorative presence. The design is highlighted by a fine, even drawstring running across its entire width, a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. The fabric, a light cream color, has a dense, firm weave, characteristic of antique château linens. The sheets need washing. There is a very slight, localized crease, which should disappear after the next wash. ✨ Characteristics: Period: late 19th – early 20th century Material: linen/cotton blend Type: winter sheets, thick and firm fabric Provenance: castle linen (Narbonne region) Monogram: MB under a marquis's coronet Total height of the motif: 23 cm Coronet: 16 × 7 cm Letters: 13.5 × 13 cm Exposure: small, regular opening (approx. 2 mm) Dimensions: approximately 220 × 290 cm Condition: very good overall condition Price: €200 per sheet.
