Pair Of Handmade Decorative Lace Curtains, "spring-summer," Circa 1900.

Unique curtains dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. This piece represents a remarkable feat of patience, crafted entirely by hand. It features an intricate combination of bobbin lace and embroidery set against natural, unbleached linen fabric. The central section is adorned with two embroidered panels bearing the words "Printemps" (Spring) and "Été" (Summer). The upper section is made of fine linen and retains its nine original large brass rings. The bottom edge is finished with a rich, scalloped border. The condition is quite good, despite several loose knots in the lace that could easily be re-secured. The fabric shows some age-related spotting (storage marks) that should come out with the next wash (hand wash, with rings removed). These curtains remain in their original, authentic state, complete with their hand-sewn rings. They offer a refined rustic style and an unusual seasonal theme—perfect for a country home, ranch, or guesthouse, whether used as curtains, a headboard feature, or simply as a decorative accent.
