Regency Period Chest Of Drawers – 18th Century
A charming small Regency period commode from the 18th century, veneered in fruitwood and adorned with marquetry reserves. The slightly sinuous front opens with four drawers arranged in three rows, separated by crossbars, in keeping with the characteristic style of the first third of the 18th century.
The top is finished with a period gray veined marble, lending the piece an elegant simplicity. The commode features keyhole escutcheons and drawer pulls in finely chased bronze decorated with rocaille foliage and shells, typical elements of the Regency decorative vocabulary. A key is included.
