"19th-century Tibetan Thangka Of Avalokiteshvara With Eleven Heads"
This 19th-century thangka, measuring 53 cm wide by 83 cm high, is a work of great finesse depicting Avalokiteshvara with eleven heads and eight arms, the symbol of universal compassion. The deity, standing on a lotus throne, is surrounded by a mandorla richly decorated with gold highlights and natural mineral pigments, such as lapis lazuli and malachite, which retain remarkable intensity and depth despite the passage of time. The iconography is completed by lineage Buddhas and protective deities, all magnificently preserved in its original gray and red damask silk mount. This collector's item is distinguished by the exceptional serenity of the principal deity's face, whose full features adhere to traditional Tibetan aesthetic canons, as well as by the rare integrity of its brocade border and backing, attesting to its authenticity and historical value.
