"Louis XVI Style Solid Walnut Commode"
This small cabinetmaker's apprentice piece faithfully reproduces the proportions and architecture of a period commode: a facade punctuated by three drawers framed by fluted uprights, patinated metal handles and keyhole escutcheons, an overhanging top, and tapered legs typical of the Louis XVI style. The craftsmanship is particularly meticulous: precise joinery, clean moldings, and a beautiful warm patina of the old walnut reveal an object made with care as part of a master craftsman's or journeyman's work. These miniature pieces were made by apprentices to demonstrate their technical skills and are now highly sought-after by collectors. Dimensions: Length: 32 cm Depth: 16 cm Height: 25 cm Condition: Good overall condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with its age.
