"Porcelain Plate From The Imperial Factory Of Vienna, Late 18th Century "

The rim of the plate is decorated with a polychrome motif of four cabochons featuring cupids and sphinxes, interspersed with a scrolling foliage motif, the center of which is marked by a smoking urn. The whole is embellished with burnished gilt borders. Some of these motifs are borrowed from the Sèvres Manufactory. The Imperial Porcelain Manufactory of Vienna (Austria), from 1784 the manufactory was directed by Conrad von Sorgenthal (1735-1805).
