Johannes Mogk (1868-1921),musician With Lute And Little Girl Playing On The Reverse.black Chalk

Johannes Heinrich Mogk (1868 Dresden – 1921 ibid.) studied at the academies of Dresden (1887/91) and Munich (1893), then at the Académie Julian in Paris in 1895. From 1896 to 1900, he was a student of Hermann Prell in Dresden, where he worked on Saxon landscapes. The rest of his work is relatively little known.
This piece has a playful and charming quality. One can imagine, on one side, a young woman playing music in a café-concert, and on the other, her daughter playing quietly at home!
