Sublime kilim originating from Hakkari in the far east of Anatolia. Woven wool on wool in the traditional manner. The piece is composed of two panels joined and sewn together, a distinctive feature of most 19th and very early 20th-century pieces. It is indeed the work of the Kurdish population, the majority in the far east of Turkey. Extremely tight and regular weave. A work of art and a refined piece. Very beautiful, harmonious plant-based hues. Shades of indigo blue, midnight blue, madder red, red ochre... Like a signature, very beautiful braided net fringes, the work of the Kurds.
