This magnificent mid-20th century rug is from Kashmir, India. It is silk on silk, with a density of 480,000 knots per square meter. This piece measures 108 cm wide by 160 cm long.
This rug is in very good condition despite its years, its colors are very fresh, the deep raspberry has kept its beautiful shine.
The quality of these beautiful old silks is no longer to be demonstrated.
One can only admire the work and the abundance of flowers, palms, framing a learned medallion accompanied by spandrels and borders of a complicated design.
