Mirror With Pediment
...a Renaissance-style carved wooden mirror, partially openwork and gilded with scrolling foliage. Beveled glass. 19th century. Height: 139.5 cm / Width: 99.5 cm (minor losses and flaking / wear to the gilding / soiling). This mirror has never been restored. It comes from an old house near Bordeaux where it was originally placed above a fireplace. Of good size and with a certain charm, it can be displayed as is in a period-furnished setting, or better yet, in a contemporary interior where it will fully express its decorative power.
