Pairs Of Cloisonné Vases
Artist: Pirata Seimin
Pair of cloisonné bronze vases, 24 cm high. The neck opening is 9 cm in diameter and the vase itself is 14 cm high. The body of each vase bears the cartouche of the artist Murata Seimin (1761-1837), inscribed: "Dei nippon bunsei n'en Seimin Ju," meaning: "Cast in Japan by Murata Seimin during the Bunsei era" (1818-1829). The pair is in very good condition despite a small chip due to the casting process; a dark chocolate patina covers this set, which is primarily enameled in blue and decorated with white, dark red, and deep blue flowers.
