"Denier Julia Domna"
Denarius of Empress Julia Domna (212), wife of Septimius Severus. Obverse: Portrait of Julia facing right, legend: Julia Augusta (Julia, Empress). Reverse: The goddess Cybele seated on a curule chair, holding an olive branch in her right hand. Below, a lion (symbol of Cybele). Legend: Mater Deum (Mother of the Gods). Coin in superior condition. Weighs 2.62 grams and measures 18 mm in diameter. Very well-centered coin with a collector's patina.
