Two similar "Aftafa" ewers in yellow copper are found in the Heydar Aliyev Foundation collection.
The shape and style of the decoration are identical in every respect.
The body is flat on both sides and features a harmonious design.
A finial surmounts the top, and a wide bronze handle, a broad ring at the neck, and a long spout enhance the piece.
This Aftafa ewer or jug is primarily used for ablutions, washing the face and hands, during religious ceremonies, but also for serving at the table.
