"Schoelcher Factory, Polychrome Porcelain And Gold Plate With Lilies, Restoration Period, Signed"
A beautiful collector's plate featuring a bouquet of naturalistic white lilies. The purple border is encircled by a frieze of gold palmettes in matte and burnished agate. Below, it bears the signature of the Schoelcher Manufactory in iron red. Empire-Restoration period, circa 1820. The Schoelcher Manufactory (1798-1834) was the successor to the Faubourg Saint-Denis Manufactory, formerly that of the Count of Artois, established under the Ancien Régime. It enjoyed great success during the Empire and the Restoration, where it was under the patronage of the Duchess of Berry. The decoration of the lilies of France is a royalist motif. In excellent, like-new condition. No damage or wear to the decoration or gilding. Diameter: 22.5 cm
