Display Stand In Green Onyx And Silver-plated Metal, Italy, Vintage 1935-1955
Magnificent display stand in onyx veined with rust and beige, a fine stone that is translucent in the light, and silvered metal (possibly silvered bronze). A high-quality Italian piece, circa 1935-1955, with the slender lines characteristic of post-Art Deco. Monolithic onyx base and top, mounted on a central stem with foliate decoration and an ornamented finial. A rare piece in this quality of stone. Total height 35 cm, diameter of the top 20 cm. Very good condition, the onyx is intact with slight, discreet surface wear, the metal is clean, with minor signs of use that do not affect its appearance. A wood-effect adhesive sheet under the base was applied after its manufacture. Approximately 1-1.5 kg.
