Sèvres Crystal Trinket Tray, Designed By L. Seiler, With A Gilt Bronze Mount, 1925-1945
A very pretty Sèvres crystal trinket dish, designed by L. Seiler, France, dating from around 1925-1945. The molded or cut and fire-polished crystal bowl is decorated with diamond-cut points and an engraved star at the base, mounted on a gilt brass or bronze tripod base with lion's paw feet and a charming neoclassical handle. An elegant and decorative piece in the neoclassical style, suitable for use as a trinket dish. The piece is unsigned and the original label is missing. It reads: Opaline Cristal de Sèvres L. Seiler. Maximum diameter 14 cm, total length with handle approximately 23 cm, maximum height 11 cm to the handle, height of the bowl with feet 4.5 cm. Weight approximately 750–800 g.
