Green Onyx And Silver-plated Metal Display Stand, Italy, Vintage Years 1935-1955
Beautiful display stand in rust- and beige-veined onyx, a fine stone translucent in the light, and silver-plated metal (possibly silver-plated bronze). Fine Italian work, circa 1935-1955, with slender lines characteristic of the post-Art Deco period. Monolithic onyx base and tray, mounted on a central stem with foliate decoration and ornamented top. A rare piece in this quality of stone.
Total height 35cm, tray diameter 20cm. Very fine condition, onyx intact with slight discrete surface wear, metal clean, slight marks of use without incidence, wood-style self-adhesive leaf under the base posterior to manufacture. Approx. 1-1.5 kg.
