"Louis XV Armchair, Stamped Jean Baptiste Meunier, 18th Century"
A Louis XV style armchair, crafted from beechwood, with a flat back and curved seat rail. It features cabriole legs, carved with flowers, foliage, and scrolls. The upholstery is antique needlepoint with a floral basket motif. There are minor restorations, including a straight rear leg and brackets under the seat. It bears the stamp: JB Meunier on the rear seat rail. 18th century. Dimensions: Height: 96 cm, Width: 69 cm, Depth: 71 cm. Jean Baptiste Meunier was born in 1714 and became a master craftsman in 1739. He worked on the rue de Bourbon until approximately 1785. He produced ample and elegant Louis XV chairs with generous proportions, primarily large sets of armchairs. He perpetuates the family tradition of his father, Etienne Meunier, and his uncle, Antoine Meunier.
