Armchair Louis XV Period Stamped Falconnet

Artist: Falconnet Pierre
Beautiful chair caned Louis XV stamped Pierre Falconnet.

FALCONET (stone), a master carpenter furniture in Paris, born in 1683, exercised Rue de Clery, under the name of Fidelity, between 1738 and 1750. He was succeeded by his son Louis, who obtained the Master of Arts 9 September 1743 and died around 1775. The widow of the latter kept the house until 1782. We owe to their workshop remarkable works bearing the stamp reproduced below cons. I saw this print on two large armchairs confessional regency building equipped with removable cheek binding by nuts, which were there a few years with Parguez. Ms. Henry Countess de Gontaut-Biron Falcon retains a beautiful screen and son, richly carved acanthus, laurel, flowers and pine cones with a pediment scroll crowned with a grenade; this piece was executed by the end of the reign of Louis XV for Mr. Ogier d'Ivry, large audiencier de France, the castle of Hénonville. Among other interesting coins minted from the same brand include a lounge chair that has the Niel count, a shepherdess gondola having figured in the former collection of Jean Perier, the Opera-Comique, and Louis XVI lounge furniture that belonged before the war to MH Mumm.
