Important oil on panel depicting an elegant garden fête set within a monumental architectural landscape, animated by refined figures gathered around banquet tables beneath a luminous, pastel-toned sky.

The painting stands out for its rich impasto, layered brushwork and vibrant chromatic harmonies, directly recalling the pictorial language developed by Alfred Monticelli, whose influence shaped a generation of French painters at the end of the 19th century.

The surface reveals generous, sculptural paint application, particularly visible in the foliage, garments and sky. The palette blends creamy whites, celadon blues, deep greens, warm ochres and carmine accents, favoring decorative impact over strict naturalism.

The composition unfolds through a central perspective framed by architectural elements, creating a theatrical setting reminiscent of idealized 18th-century aristocratic gatherings.

Monticelli, admired by Vincent van Gogh, renewed the tradition of the fête galante through expressive color and material richness. This work belongs to the artistic circle that extended his legacy in Marseille, Lyon and Paris between 1885 and 1900.
