"Georgian Officer’s York Volunteers Coatee"

Georgian York Volunteers officer’s short tailed coatee. Red melton cloth body with yellow facings, trimmed with bullion lace. The front secured by ten regimental brass gilt buttons. The rear skirts are adorned with false pockets which are also trimmed with lace and regimental buttons, the white false turn over show no evidence of ever having tail ornaments. Interior is lined with a course white wool. One or two small moth nips and minor staining, otherwise in very nice condition.

The York Volunteers were reformed in 1803
