Bust Of A Young Roman - Plaster With A Porphyry Patina
Large plaster bust with a polychrome patina imitating porphyry, representing Marcus Junius Brutus, known as Brutus. This is a model made after the famous original white marble bust housed in the Capitoline Museums in Rome. The high-quality patina offers a remarkable trompe-l'œil effect evoking porphyry. An inscription appears on the front: "Brutus the Younger – Capitoline Museums (?)".
