A very pretty oil painting on panel depicting camel drivers resting beside a built well. The well-balanced composition, classically executed, reveals an essential scene in the lives of Eastern peoples: the search for water. Several figures are seen under the well, sheltered from the sun, while in the foreground, two travelers are quenching their thirst. There are a few scratches along the edge of the panel. The very old varnish has yellowed.
