Puiforcat: 14-piece Vermeil Sterling Silver Tea Service - Original Box
Artist: Emile Puiforcat
Exceptional PUIFORCAT Vermeil (Gold on Silver) Tea Service. Presented in its original box, originally sold by Maison Louis REY of Marseille, lined with chamois leather and beige-cream silk, in its original condition. The tea service is complete with its 12 spoons, sugar tongs, and tea strainer, for a total of 14 pieces. The spatulas are edged with a gadrooned frieze and monogrammed (see photos). Hallmarks include the French Minerva 1st Standard (.950), the "Boar's Head" hallmark, and the hallmarks of the master silversmith Emile PUIFORCAT (hallmark with the initials "EP" and a penknife), registered in 1857. This exceptional tea service, entirely in vermeil, is complete and presented in its box, with minor scratches consistent with age. Absolutely beautiful... Please disregard any reflections in the photos.
