Large 19th-century Asian Carved Wood Table Screen Panel
A very rare and magnificent decorative table windscreen or panel, hand-carved rosewood, China or Indochina, circa 1850-1900, 19th century. The base is decorated with a tree trunk on a rocky outcrop, branches and leaves, and to the right, a lucky crane perched on the base. The trunk is surmounted by a large disc decorated in its center with a sun framed by clouds, or some other symbol. A very beautiful and rare antique object of exquisite craftsmanship, with rich and understated details. Unsigned. 53cm total height, 25-26cm maximum width, approximately 7cm thick. In very good condition, with minimal wear such as some cracking in the wood, slightly visible at the top center of the disc, and a few discreet scuff marks. One branch may be broken at the back, a very discreet old imperfection, almost invisible from the front. A collector's and antique piece. Approximately 1100kg.
