Art Deco Curved Chest Of Drawers, 1925, In Amboyna
Elegant Art Deco commode circa 1925. Made of solid mahogany and amboyna burl. It opens with three drawers without a central rail and features a decorative pattern of flowing lines and dentils at the top. The curved, triple-tiered front is highlighted at the bottom by projecting rails in a passementerie style. It rests on tapered, gadrooned legs ending in gilt sabots. The drawer pulls and keyhole escutcheons are gilt. The drawer interiors are solid mahogany. The top is speckled pink marble. Refinished with a French polish, in perfect condition. Superb piece, maker unknown. Circa 1925
