19th-century Carcel Bronze Lamps Signed Decan & Cie (electrified)

Artist: Decan & Cie
Pair of large table lamps—Carcel-style—from the prestigious Parisian manufacturer Decan & Cie.

Made of gilded bronze with a patina

Originally designed as mechanical lamps with a dimmer, they have been carefully converted to electric power while retaining their original charm and structure.

The body of each lamp features the chiseling and patina characteristic of 19th-century Parisian bronze work: The square base rests on four richly carved legs, adorned with an openwork design of stylized shells and blooming acanthus leaves. The intermediate base: It consists of a double cubic pedestal with beveled sides, crafted from bronze with a medal-tone or gunmetal patina, edged at the top by a gilded brass frieze chiseled with gadroons and palmettes. The original stamped bronze nameplate and the hole for inserting the winding key are located on the central ring. The shaft (column): The upper section rises from a broad corolla of water leaves in high relief. This gives way to a central cylindrical shaft with twisted fluting in patinated bronze, crowned by a collar also carved with plant motifs.

In good condition and in working order.
