## For my last rug of the year 2025, I wanted a happy, bright,
colorful rug, like the pieces from the Caucasus,
a joyful Kazak rug to lead us into a 2026 full of joy !!!
Large and beautiful Kazak gallery rug, originating from Armenia or Georgia, Caucasus.
This piece measures 123 cm wide by 303 cm long.
Hand-knotted wool on wool from the mid-20th century.
The Caucasian design borrows many motifs from the closely related Anatolian rugs.
Three medallions with sharp points and the beginning of a fourth unfold on the orange field.
There are also numerous motifs, often with familial, ethnic, and tribal themes, appearing on either side: stylized tarantulas, trees of life, horses, deer, an oak leaf border...
The variations in wool and colors reveal the charming village character of this rug, knotted by women.
for trade or personal use. These rural rugs, knotted by village women, are always full of whimsy and vibrancy.
The carefully spun wool is of very high quality, soft and fine;
the motifs have been there since time immemorial. In this model, one clearly senses the Caucasian character, with star medallions, fields, and borders, conveyed with sincerity and naivety.
The rug is in very good condition; the wool is thick and soft, and the edges are also in very good condition.
Shades of red and orange-red blend with beige, brown, and black.
The whole is a beautiful, high-quality ethnic rug. A great cheerfulness emanates from this piece, due to the vibrancy of the colors.
Each stylized flower, one after the other, also alternates the color of its petals, changing from yellow to orange, to orange and yellow, blue, and pink—all with the aim of clearly distinguishing the objects, stars, and flowers that compose this marvelous rug, which is in very good condition.
