Superb small cabinet forming a bookcase in oak and ash burl, from the Bresse region, mid-19th century. It rests on two straight legs at the rear and two cabriole legs at the front. It opens at the front with two doors, each composed of two ash burl panels with a decorative grain and a glass pane in the upper part. These three elements are held within an oak frame; the crossbars have a beautiful, flowing, and elegant undulation. The top of each door is carved with a daisy resting on a stem with lanceolate leaves. The left door frame is adorned with a charming carving featuring Bresse motifs, blackened within the fluting. The interior is fitted with three adjustable shelves mounted on racks. The lower rail is deeply shaped and decorated with a hemisphere containing an inverted fan.
