IMPORTANT LOUIS XV PRESENTATION CABINET IN WALNUT
Southern France, Louis XV period, circa 1750-1780
Important presentation cabinet in solid walnut opening to two glass doors with a curved shape. It stands on scrolled legs and features an elegant curved cornice overhanging a front with harmonious lines.
The molded uprights, scalloped bottom rail and exceptional quality of the walnut bear witness to remarkable provincial cabinetmaking of the XVIIIᵉ century.
The interior is fitted with shelves for displaying earthenware, glassware, precious objects or household linen. The back, made of large antique planks assembled by hand, retains many traces of original tools attesting to the age and authenticity of the piece.
This armoire has retained a beautiful warm patina and all the character of French furniture from the Louis XV period. Its generous proportions and elegance make it a first-rate piece for a classic or contemporary interior.
