Napoleon III style blackened wood harness - XIXᵉ century
Elegant blackened wood sellette resting on a square base. It features a turned and fluted shaft embellished with molded and carved decoration, characteristic of the decorative furniture of the second half of the XIXᵉ century.
The square tray is ideal for displaying an objet d'art, bust, sculpture or vase. The slender silhouette and black finish give it a very elegant decorative presence.
This type of saddle was frequently used in 19thᵉ century interiors to showcase objets d'art.
