Small Mahogany Drop-Leaf Table – Napoleon III Period. An elegant small mahogany drop-leaf table, French work from the Napoleon III period, mid-19th century. The oval top has two drop leaves on either side, allowing the tabletop to be extended as needed. The apron opens at the front with two storage drawers. One side features a sliding drawer that forms a shelf, while the other side has a drop-leaf compartment, formerly intended to hold a chamber pot or toiletries. The piece rests on four turned legs, two of which are decorated with twisted scrollwork, joined by a stretcher shelf that adds stability and elegance. A practical and decorative piece, it can be used as a side table, small dressing table, bedside table, or work table. The mahogany has a beautiful patina.
