Pet Kennel, Reminiscent Of A Neoclassical Architectural Temple.

A rare and elegant indoor pet niche, crafted from antique elements, was created as a unique piece, most likely commissioned by an interior designer. This striking piece takes its form from a neoclassical temple, drawing directly on the vocabulary inherited from Antiquity, which was widely revived at the end of the 18th century. The design is distinguished by its strong, clear, and perfectly balanced architectural structure, despite its small size. The structure incorporates carefully reused antique elements, including turned Tuscan-style columns and a triangular pediment, whose design, proportions, and decorative vocabulary are fully in keeping with the neoclassical aesthetic. The carved wooden friezes with interlacing and heart-shaped motifs, as well as the mascaron, also contribute to this architectural interpretation: these decorations, drawn from the classical repertoire, were widely used in neoclassical architecture and decorative arts to emphasize order, symmetry, and the rigor of forms. The entire piece is made of painted wood, a nuanced light gray, showing some wear and repairs, confirming the object's history. The niche is fully lined and upholstered in a high-quality fabric, the "Les Chenapans" pattern by Brunschwig & Fils, a printed cotton fabric inspired by 18th-century French decorative canvases, featuring lively scenes, figures, plants, and picturesque motifs. The upholstery finishes are particularly refined: braided braids, elegant trimmings, and decorative tassels testify to careful and high-quality craftsmanship. The pet bed features two removable cushions: an inner cushion and a generously padded top cushion, both designed for the pet's comfort. Intended for a small dog or cat, this unique piece transcends its utilitarian function to become a decorative object in its own right, perfectly embodying the world of interior design, where furniture engages with architectural history and styles. Dimensions: Total height (with cushion): 76 cm Width: 61 cm Depth: 59 cm
