Kayseri rug in top-quality, finely hand-knotted wool.
Originating from Turkey, in the Kayseri region, it measures 202 cm wide by 303 cm long.
This piece, dating from around 1970-1980, features a large floral medallion design and is in perfect condition.
The pile, fringes, and edges are impeccable.
Kayseri pile is always short and soft. Kayseri rugs draw their inspiration from antique Persian rugs, particularly those from Tabriz. Surprisingly, silk rugs influenced by Kayseri rugs are also woven in Tabriz.
This exchange of designs stems from the long-standing commercial and cultural contacts between these two cities.
These exceptional rugs, with their delicate motifs, meticulous designs, high-quality wool, and impeccable finishing, are inspired by nature.
The interlacing plant motifs, enhanced by pastel hues, are often highlighted by a midnight blue (as seen in our example). or a cardinal red. Kayseri rugs are available in all sizes, knotted in wool or silk.
These rugs are very durable and recommended for high-traffic areas.
