Exquisite solid silver spoon service by PUIFORCAT in the rare "Acanthus-Louis XVI" pattern. The service comprises 12 spoons with vermeil (gold-on-silver) bowls. Comes with a presentation box. Minerva 1st Standard hallmark (.950) and hallmarks of Master Silversmith Emile PUIFORCAT (hallmark with the initials "EP" and a penknife) received in 1857. A superb complete spoon service in the rare "Acanthes-Louis XVI" pattern by PUIFORCAT, in very good overall condition with minor scratches from use. The "Acanthes-Louis XVI" pattern is rightly featured several times in David Allan's reference work listing the finest French silverware designs (see page 391...).
