Small Walnut Writing Table From The Late 17th/early 18th Century, Louis XIII - Louis XIV Style Desk

A lovely little table from the late 17th/early 18th century, crafted from solid walnut and oak. It rests on four turned baluster legs connected by an H-shaped stretcher. This stretcher shows some signs of wear due to its age (see photos). The table features a small drawer in the apron at the front, likely modified around 1900 for use as a desk. The oak top is beautifully molded around its entire edge and was also replaced at the same time as the drawer. The finials at the ends of the legs have also been replaced. This piece is in good overall condition, showing some old woodworm damage and minor wear, but we must remember that this charming table dates from the late 17th/early 18th century.
