A complete 19th-century bloodletting kit, typical of homes found in bourgeois households circa 1860, comprising a handsome automatic scarifier with a three-position trigger, twelve small, painless, round cutting blades in perfect working order, an alcohol burner, an alcohol lamp for heating  inside cups to be applied on skin, and five attractive blown-glass cups of varying sizes with ground pontil marks.
The entire set is in remarkably good, undamaged condition.
"Blending by cupping involves making two or three small incisions with a lancet (similar to diabetic bloodletting) and using suction of cup to draw stagnant blood outwards.
