"Pair Of Patinated And Gilded Bronze Cassolettes – 19th Century"
A charming pair of patinated bronze cassolettes, richly mounted with gilt bronze, made during the Restoration or Empire period. Their slender silhouette is inspired by antique models, with a pedestal supporting an ovoid body. The finely chased side handles take the form of stylized volutes terminating in swan heads. The cubic bases are outlined with a gilt fillet and rest on bases adorned with gilt bronze feline claws. The whole set boasts a beautiful, consistent, and uniform antique patina, a testament to quality. Note that the painted medallions were most likely added at the end of the 19th century.
