"émile Gallé Vase With Thistle Decoration - Circa 1900"
A magnificent baluster-shaped vase with a long neck, crafted from smoked glass and decorated with enameled thistles. Opposite, a Lorraine cross appears, a strong regional and historical symbol of the Nancy School. Its elegant and slender form, typical of Gallé's productions from the late 19th century and around 1900, along with its finely executed naturalistic plant decoration in polychrome enamel in shades of purple and brown, beautifully illustrates the master glassmaker's skill. The thistle, a recurring motif in Gallé's work, symbolizes resistance, pride, and Lorraine roots. Very good condition, no chips. Dimensions: - Height 32 cm - Width 14 cm.
