Silver And Crystal Jam Pot - Early 19th Century
A sumptuous early 19th-century jam cupboard by the silversmith J.-C. Chatenay, combining a finely crafted silver mount with a cut crystal container. Adorned with mascarons depicting scenes from antiquity, the elegantly openwork silver mount perfectly complements the shape of the crystal and extends into a quadrangular pedestal resting on ball feet. The lid, topped with a swan-shaped finial, harmoniously completes the composition. The set retains its spoons, housed within their frame. A high-quality piece of silverware, both decorative and functional, typical of the refined productions of the first third of the 19th century. In very good condition, with the Vieillard hallmark on the jam pot and the Minerva hallmark on the spoons. Net weight: 810g - Height 26cm - Width 19cm.
