Léonor Fini was a painter, illustrator, and set designer born in Buenos Aires and raised in Trieste. Settling in Paris in the 1930s, she frequented Surrealist circles while maintaining complete independence. Her instantly recognizable work features powerful female figures, mythological creatures, dreamlike imagery, and a pronounced sense of theater and costume. A multifaceted artist, she illustrated numerous books, created sets and costumes for the opera, and published several works. Today, Léonor Fini is considered one of the great creators of the 20th century, with a sustained international reputation, particularly sought after for her paintings, drawings and prints. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
