Carved Wooden Putto/winged Cupid - 19th Century
Carved wooden putto - 19th century. A brown patinated wooden sculpture depicting a putto (or Cupid). The child is shown holding an object in his right hand corresponding to a bow, now missing, a classic iconography of love from the 18th-19th centuries. Good overall condition with signs of wear. The bow is missing (original element). Minor marks and rubbing consistent with age. On display at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
