"Original Photograph By Auguste Belloc (1800-1867) Nude - Napoleon III"
A very rare stereoscopic photograph by Auguste Belloc (1800-1867) from the 1850s depicting a nude woman. A beautiful example, the colors are perfect! 17 x 8.5 cm. The number 211 written in the center is identical in every way to those in the Nazarieff collection. The setting and studio are Belloc's. Recently discovered in an attic along with two other photographs of nudes from the 1850s-1860s. In October 1860, five thousand licentious photographs were seized at Auguste Belloc's home. Six years later, only 195 photographs remained when they were deposited at the Imperial Library. Of this seizure, only 24 stereoscopic views survive today, preserved in the "Hell" section of the National Library of France.
