The book was published in 1619. We see 4 eagles, two of which are feeding on the body of a horse. The motto "speculum fidele" faithfully mirrored in the pediment. In the book, the engraving is followed by these words: On a dead body and stinking carrion The eagles have the sense to assemble For life to have, and are not ashamed of it. It is a beautiful mirror for the hearts of all Christians to burn, not to resemble them.
