These two miniatures come from the same Leconte family, identified by old handwritten labels on the reverse.
Description:
Portrait of a man: "Mr. Leconte, father of Mrs. Perger Leconte." Carefully executed, circa 1790–1800.
Portrait of a woman: a young woman named Denise, born in Paris in 1758, married in 1784 to Claude Leconte, a bailiff's councilor, died in 1803 (full inscription, partially incomplete).
Fine and expressive paintings, typical of the French school around the Directory-Consulate period.
Dimensions: 10 cm in diameter (frames).
Condition:
Very good; original labels, fragile.
