First half of the 20th century, painted plaster with a gilt bronze finish.
Attributed to Hermann Feuerhahn (1873–1955).
A set of four plaster bas-reliefs, combining classical elegance with the modernity of Art Deco. Each relief panel depicts nude figures, men and women, in dynamic and varied poses: passionate embraces, virile struggles, physical exchanges, or horseback rides. The composition expresses sensuality, movement, and formal harmony, the hallmarks of Feuerhahn's aesthetic.
Beneath each scene, a musical term—Allegro, Largo, Andante, Scherzando—inscribed in relief, establishes a subtle dialogue between musical rhythm and sculptural gesture, transforming these bas-reliefs into visual and poetic scores.
These pieces were likely designed as architectural decorative elements, examples of Art Deco applied to wall ornamentation.
Painted plaster plaques.
Some signs of wear and damage.
Approximate dimensions: 29 x 25 cm each.
